Pediatrician Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatrician to join our team at CommuniCare Health Center. As a Pediatrician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children and adolescents in our in-patient and out-patient settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat patients, prescribing medications and treatment regimens as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring continuity of care and compliance with Health Information Management policies.
  • Provide comprehensive medical services on a timely basis, adhering to Clinic schedules and scope of practice.
  • Refer patients to specialty care services, lab, and x-ray as needed, and review lab and x-ray reports to inform medical management decisions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and minimize schedule changes and absences.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Train and mentor students and clinical support staff, as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction surveys, and other clinic functions as required.
Requirements:
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited Medical School.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Texas.
  • Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty.
  • Registration and current DEA, and other necessary certificates to practice in Texas.
  • Hospital privileges at designated area hospitals, if required for specialty.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, desired.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Instructor-Led by American Heart Association.
Physical and Mental Demands:
  • Finger dexterity and normal fine and gross motor control of fingers and hands.
  • Talking and hearing abilities, with ability to accurately convey instructions and ideas.
  • Visual acuity necessary for patient evaluation and document preparation.
  • Ability to sit 20-30% of time and stand, walk 70-80% of time, with occasional lifting and bending.
