Patient Access Representative

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and service to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate and service ambassador, providing a favorable first impression and proactive attention to internal and external customers to meet or exceed expectations, address concerns, and optimize experience.
- Registration and Scheduling: Perform all on-site patient access registration related functions promptly without compromising patient safety, quality, service levels, and reimbursement.
- Financial Responsibility: Identify and collect patient's self-pay responsibility, including co-pays, deductibles, co-insurances, self-pay discount rates, global packages, and previous outstanding balances for both technical and professional components in POS 11 and 22 clinics.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with physicians, co-workers, other departments, and patients of all ages, and from across a broad range of cultural and social economic backgrounds.
- Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: One (1) year of customer service experience required; experience in a healthcare-related setting preferred.
- Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
