About This Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of maintenance personnel in a fast-paced galvanizing operations environment. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment, supervising a team of technicians, and collaborating with other departments to achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Test, inspect, repair, and reassemble plant equipment, components, and systems, including overhead bridge cranes, hoists, gearboxes, forklifts, straddle trucks, shag trucks, company vehicles, pneumatic and mechanical systems, power transmission components, combustion engines, boiler systems, and electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Electrical Work: Perform high-skilled electrical work, including reading and interpreting blueprints to complete assigned tasks and repairs.
  • Fabrication and Repair: Fabricate fixtures using welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications.
  • Team Leadership: Define expected production standards, monitor performance standards of assigned personnel, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Communication: Communicate with other maintenance and production team members via email, phone, and face-to-face.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training and provide guidance and instruction to the Maintenance department.
  • Housekeeping: Assist in general plant clean up and housekeeping.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Two to five years related experience and/or training related to the maintenance and repair of galvanizing equipment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong background knowledge of 480-volt, 3-phase electricity; ability to work from heights using equipment such as a high reach; proven supervisory skills and strong leadership with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Skills: Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industrial Maintenance or Related Field: An Associate's or Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
  • Industrial Boiler Certification: Industrial boiler certification.
  • Blueprint Reading and Fabrication: Ability to interpret and fabricate components based on blueprints or specification sheets.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Two years of experience troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Two years of experience welding/fabricating metal structures/components.
  • Structural Welding Certification: Structural welding certification.
  • Pipe Welding Certification: Pipe welding certification.
  • Licensed Electrician: Licensed electrician.
  • Licensed HVAC: Licensed HVAC.
