Key Responsibilities- Provide general nursing care to patients, under the supervision of physicians and clinicians, to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
- Assist with exams, procedures, patient education, and maintenance of medical records to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Compile patient health information, take vital signs, and conduct basic care treatments to promote patient well-being.
- Prepare patients for examination, assist physicians with exams, and provide disease-specific patient education to empower patients with knowledge.
- Draw blood, collect lab specimens, and perform waived lab tests to support diagnostic efforts.
- Administer medications, fill pill boxes, and perform first aid procedures, such as changing dressings and applying bandages, to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Screen calls and walk-ins, collect clinical information, and relay it to physicians, implementing orders as necessary and documenting observations and interventions.
- Maintain supplies and equipment, stock and sterilize instruments, and practice OSHA safety standards to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Call in prescriptions to pharmacies, use medical terminology, and follow legal and ethical professional conduct to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Process patient phone messages, return calls, and route them to other team members as needed, and contact patients to obtain and relay pertinent information from physicians.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited school for practical or vocational nursing required.
- Current, active LPN license to practice in the state of employment required.
- IV Therapy Certification required if required by the state's Board of Nursing.
- CPR certification for Healthcare Providers required.
- A minimum of 1 year of work experience as an LPN required.
- A minimum of 3 years overall clinical experience preferred.
- Experience working with geriatric patients a plus.
- EMR system experience preferred.
