Day Kimball Healthcare is seeking a skilled Psychotherapist to join our Behavioral Health Services team. As a per diem mental health professional, you will provide direct services to psychiatric outpatients of all ages, including adults, children, and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform individual, marital, family, and group psychotherapy for persons in the thirteen-town area.
- Evaluate psychiatric patients in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a psychiatrist.
- Serve as a liaison with other service providers or community supports for the continuous improvement of services to patients.
- Maintain patient charts appropriately, including development of treatment plans with measurable goals.
- Attend and participate in interdisciplinary staff conferences.
- Assist patients and families in dealing with acute psychiatric symptoms, assessing needed clinical interventions, and encouraging use of and compliance with medication.
- Discuss patients' progress in therapy in weekly supervision sessions.
- Take appropriate action when patients become suicidal, homicidal, or psychotic.
- Refer patients for psychiatric evaluation when appropriate.
- MSW, MS, MA in Psychology or related field required.
- Additional training in the treatment of children and adolescents required.
- Current Connecticut state licensure required.
- One year experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in the treatment of children and adolescents preferred.
