Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

Volt is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer in the area. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing various manufacturing processes, including CBN Grind, EDM, Mill, Welding, Assembly, Plasma application, Heat Treat, and similar processes.

You will incorporate diverse requirements of safety, schedule, cost, quality, and competitiveness into independent projects related to manufacturing plans and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with production employees to complete daily activities with urgency
  • Complete short- and long-term projects to improve safety, velocity, cost, and quality
  • Support production employees and ensure compliance with safety protocols

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiar with dimensioned drawings/operation instruction sheets
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Leadership experience (project or team)
  • Experience with Baan ERP
  • Experience with Windchill, SFIS, Minitab, Quicksilver
