Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold customer satisfaction by greeting and acknowledging all customers
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse
- Process cores, warranties, and new return merchandise as necessary
- Participate in training sessions as directed by management to enhance job proficiency
- Utilize dealership equipment and resources safely and effectively
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Parts Manager
- Verify receiving documents
- Monitor shortages and expedite reporting to the Parts Manager
Ensure all parts are checked and quantities on invoices are verified to confirm the correct parts are pulled and placed in the appropriate staging area.
Parts in the staging area without an invoice should be set aside until all routes are verified.
Invoices lacking parts in the staging area should also be set aside until all routes are checked.
After route verification, check extra parts against invoices to confirm if they are in the wrong staging area.
Parts without invoices should be processed to locate the corresponding invoice and reprinted.
Invoices with missing parts that are available in the warehouse should be checked and pulled if located. Unavailable parts should be removed from the invoice, which should then be closed.
Any parts that cannot be found must be reported to sales personnel.
For parts missing that are stored off-site at dealership locations, follow these procedures:
For Chrysler parts, including Alfa: mark the invoice to indicate missing items and send a quote to the designated personnel for verification and pickup.
For Ford & Subaru: mark the invoice and leave it with the morning staff, who will follow up to check for missing parts.
Inbound Freight Management:
Prepare packing lists prior to the arrival of inbound freight.
Ensure all supersessions are completed before freight arrival.
Report any parts not arriving due to allocation, restriction, or availability issues to sales personnel.
Inbound freight should be scanned, invoiced, and organized into their respective route locations.
Invoices must be initialed in the upper right corner to indicate who verified the parts and left them in the staging area.
Parts for Volvo are the responsibility of the night warehouse and must be checked, receipted, and staged for delivery.
Remove any debris, garbage, or empty boxes from the warehouse.
Empty totes should be stored in the cages, which must be returned daily.
Qualifications: To succeed in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:
- No prior experience or training required.
- Less than high school education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
