Position Overview
The Evening Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for ensuring a pristine and secure environment within the facility by adhering to established cleaning protocols. This role may involve receiving guidance from a nursing director or departmental supervisor regarding specific housekeeping requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the mission and core values of PCMH at all times, embodying these principles in daily conduct.
- Comply with all relevant laws and regulations concerning patient health, safety, and medical confidentiality.
- Maintain both hard and soft surface flooring through standard cleaning practices.
- Implement a systematic 7-step cleaning process, which includes emptying waste and linen receptacles, high dusting, damp mopping, sanitizing bathrooms, making beds, and thoroughly wiping all horizontal surfaces.
- Restock essential supplies such as soap, tissues, towels, and other disposables as needed.
- Sanitize and polish sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, and stainless steel fixtures according to established guidelines.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the Environmental Services closet, ensuring equipment is well-maintained and reporting any safety concerns promptly.
- Possess knowledge of all cleaning chemicals utilized in routine tasks and be trained to access and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Understand and apply Universal Precautions and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Secure cleaning carts, equipment, and chemicals to prevent unauthorized access or use.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by warmly welcoming all individuals, actively listening, and treating everyone with the utmost respect.
- Exhibit appropriate personal grooming and attire, adhering to departmental dress standards.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, observing all designated working hours.
- Adhere to JCAHO standards, including proper signage for wet floors and safe equipment usage.
- Recognize and follow all safety protocols, reporting any incidents or hazards encountered.
- Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the overall purpose of the position.
Qualifications
Education: Ability to read, write, and follow multi-step processes; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licensure: None required.
Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping is beneficial but not mandatory.
Other Requirements: Assigned hours and shifts may vary based on departmental needs.
