Agribusiness Underwriter

Chubb is seeking a skilled Agribusiness Underwriter to join our team. As an Agribusiness Underwriter, you will play a critical role in reviewing new risk submissions, renewals, and endorsement requests within assigned authority and underwriting guidelines.

• Review new risk submissions, renewals, and endorsement requests to determine acceptability of risks according to established underwriting guidelines.
• Analyze all pertinent data to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Communicate with producers to develop agent/underwriter relationships and encourage submission of targeted business.
• Assist in training of underwriting personnel as needed and perform special projects and other job duties as necessary.

• High School or GED required and at least 6 months as an Underwriting Technician at Rain and Hail Agribusiness Division or at least 1-3 year of Property and Casualty insurance experience or a baccalaureate degree.
• Knowledge of rating, forms, and underwriting requirements for Agribusiness lines of insurance.
• Ability to read and understand company procedure manuals and apply information to work tasks.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and work well in a team environment.
