About the Role

Job Summary:

The Senior Medical Science Liaison is a key member of the US therapeutic area medical unit team, responsible for analyzing and interpreting scientific data, acquiring customer insights, and fostering external expert networks to advance medical strategy and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scientific Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret complex scientific information to communicate to key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) in a compliant, fair-balanced, and non-misleading manner.
  • Customer Insights: Collect, interpret, and internally communicate medical insights from KOLs/HCPs to inform and refine medical strategies and/or tactics.
  • External Expert Networks: Build and maintain professional relationships with KOLs/HCPs per individual territory plans aligned to medical strategy.
  • Medical Strategy: Participate in executing medical strategy at medical conferences and support Takeda-sponsored research and investigator-initiated research processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete all required customer activity documentation, training, expense reporting, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Doctoral degree in life/health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent) or Master's degree in health sciences (MSN, NP, or PA).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience post-doctorate as a field-based medical science liaison (MSL) in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Skills: Excellent communication (written and verbal), organization, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in virtual and cross-functional teams.
