Criminalist I

Join the City of Reno team as a Criminalist I and contribute to the success of our community. As a key member of our forensic team, you will be responsible for conducting crime scene investigations, processing evidence, and providing expert testimony in court.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough crime scene investigations, collecting and analyzing evidence to aid in the resolution of cases.
• Process and analyze evidence, including DNA, fingerprints, and other forensic materials.
• Prepare and present expert testimony in court, providing clear and concise explanations of forensic findings.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to ensure the successful resolution of cases.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in forensic science, chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
• Two years of experience in crime scene investigations, evidence processing, and forensic analysis.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain NCIC certification.
