Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist II to join our Radiology team at DHR Health. As a CT Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing CT procedures in a timely and accurate manner, working collaboratively with other members of the Radiology team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Prepare necessary supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures.
  • Perform quality control and maintenance on equipment.
  • Responsible for the care and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and work area.
  • Accurately comprehend and interpret verbal orders and directions.
  • Assume responsibility for the collection and processing of patient specimens.
  • Complete accurate documentation on patient records according to policy.
  • Perform necessary functions on the facility's computer systems.
  • Ensure exams are verified and completed in PACS and RIS systems.
  • Train CT technologists with the appropriate procedure protocols.
  • Maintain Texas Department of Health, American College of Radiology, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Maintain equipment and procedure competencies.
  • Operate all appropriate clinical equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Complete and update all employment requirements, including Employee Health and Radiology Competencies, and Credentials.
  • Earn and submit 10 Category A credits of continuing education related to CT annually.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology program required.
  • Current state certification (i.e. Texas Medical Board) required.
  • Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) general certification required.
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) CT certification within twelve (12) months of hire required.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • American Heart Association ACLS and PALS recommended.
  • Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
  • Secretarial experience and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required. Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
  • Computer knowledge required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least two (2) years of hospital experience as a Radiologic Technologist or CT Technologist preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate high degree of competency and experience with CT procedures.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, and the ability to closely follow established procedures.
  • Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
  • Requires working with frequent interruptions.
  • Must project a professional image.
