Position Overview

The Cashier/Line role is essential in ensuring smooth operations within the dining services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process customer transactions using a cash register, ensuring proper payment collection (cash, meal card, or credit card).
  • Adhere to established cash handling procedures, ensuring accurate recording of customer and employee meals.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of food items in the service area, including stocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness in both the service area and dining room as directed by management.
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and helpful manner to enhance their dining experience.
  • Prior to meal service, assist in setting up condiments, beverages, bread, coffee stations, and other necessary items.
  • Verify cash drawer balance before shifts and ensure the register is functioning correctly.
  • Perform standard cashier duties, including ringing up sales and collecting payments.
  • At the conclusion of service, reconcile the cash drawer and submit the cash and report to the designated supervisor.
  • Participate in annual compliance training related to PCI and data security.
  • When not engaged in cashier duties, assist with setting up the serving area, restocking supplies, and cleaning dining areas.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.

Supervision

Reports directly to the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Assistant Managers. May assist in overseeing other cashiers or student employees.

Compensation

Hourly pay ranges from $19 to $24.

Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience: Previous experience is beneficial but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.

Skills: Proficiency in reading and writing English is required. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong interpersonal skills. Ability to lift moderately heavy items, up to 50 pounds, regularly is necessary.
