This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive intake and ongoing social casework services across various Title XX program domains, focusing on child maltreatment and youth conflict scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process referrals from the Statewide Child Abuse Hotline and conduct thorough assessments of reported abuse and neglect cases.
  • Carry out investigations, including home visits, to evaluate allegations of abuse and determine necessary interventions for child safety.
  • Create effective case plans and provide guidance to families on parenting, conflict resolution, and community resources.
  • Conduct intake assessments for a range of cases, including those involving adults and youth in conflict.
  • Assess the need for foster care placements and monitor the progress of clients in these settings.
  • Facilitate access to essential services such as childcare, financial aid, and health resources.
  • Engage in ancillary casework activities, including recruiting foster parents and ensuring quality care in foster placements.
  • Provide testimony in court regarding ongoing cases and make informed recommendations related to child welfare.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of case activities, plans, and assessments.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to urgent case needs.

Work Environment

This role involves managing a diverse caseload with varying complexities, requiring independent judgment and adherence to established guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of social casework principles, child welfare laws, and community resources.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and develop appropriate action plans.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience in social work or human services, preferably with a focus on child welfare.

Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
