Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Continuous Visual Telemonitor Specialist to join our team at St. Joseph Hospital - Nashua, NH. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support through continuous visual monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor Patients: Continuously monitor up to ten patients at one time, remaining alert and vigilant while on duty.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset, and with hospital staff to respond quickly to patient behavioral changes.
  • Document Patient Information: Ensure that appropriate patient information is entered into the telemonitoring software correctly, and document initiation of continuous visual telemonitoring on the patient log.
  • Perform Virtual Rounds: Perform hourly virtual rounds on patients, including environmental safety evaluations and verbal communication with patients as needed.
  • Activate Stat Alarm: Activate the stat alarm when a patient is not following direction or the situation is emergent.
  • Update Patient Status: Update the status of patients when they are out of the room (POOR) and follow up with expected return times.
  • Assist with Patient Removal: Assist the Gatekeeper and other nurse leaders in identifying patients that could potentially be removed from continuous telemonitoring.
  • Provide Reports: Provide reports to oncoming floor and monitor staff regarding patient status and activity for the shift, including notable behaviors or trends in overall patient activity.
Requirements
  • Basic Computer Operation Skills: Possess basic computer operation skills and experience with Microsoft Windows.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training: Preferably have CPI training or obtain it prior to completion of orientation.
  • Education and Experience: High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred, with healthcare experience and licensed nursing assistant preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform tasks that involve a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high-level responsibility for quality care.
