About the Role

We are seeking a Seasonal Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's Medical Center. As a key member of our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients upon admission to the emergency center and provide comprehensive nursing care
  • Perform and document patient assessments, including identifying patient and family educational and psychosocial needs
  • Administer and document medications, as prescribed by physicians
  • Report changes in patient condition to supervisor and physician
  • Provide comprehensive inter-shift reports and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department in an acute care setting
  • Experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute care setting or capstone rotation in St. David's Healthcare facilities preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from accredited Nursing program
  • Current enrollment in Alternate Entry Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) program
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy within 6 months
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 24 months of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 24 months of hire
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 12 months of hire
