The role of a 'B' Level Service Technician involves understanding and executing routine maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles. Responsibilities include general diagnostics and repairs with some guidance. Typical tasks encompass light engine repairs, transmission work, clutch adjustments, drive shaft services, electrical system repairs (including starters and alternators), HVAC system maintenance, and steering and suspension work. A majority of your manufacturer certifications will be required for this position.

  • Accurately utilize the multi-point inspection form for each vehicle.
  • Document all performed and recommended work on the assigned repair order.
  • Communicate with the service advisor regarding additional repairs needed or if work cannot be completed within the promised timeframe.
  • Maintain technician proficiency as outlined by company standards.
  • Conduct road tests to identify necessary work and confirm successful completion of repairs when feasible.
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on vehicles.
  • Execute all levels of preventive and routine maintenance services.
  • Engage in product and technical training as directed by management and manufacturers.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs to enhance your knowledge of emerging technologies.
  • Maintain the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at or above the specified goals.
  • Complete necessary documentation for warranty repairs and claims.
  • Report any conditions that may compromise the safety or integrity of the dealership, customers, or employees.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned in the same condition as received.
  • Comply with all required training for adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Follow all laws and company policies regarding the safeguarding of customer vehicles and information.
  • ASE certifications are highly preferred.
  • Manufacturer certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience as an automotive technician is required.
  • Basic tools are necessary.
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills are essential.
  • Must be a collaborative team player capable of handling complex tasks repetitively.
  • Minimum age requirement is eighteen years.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screening, including background and drug tests.
