Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee engineering processes for intricate embedded systems designs.
  • Facilitate the design, development, and testing of electrical hardware and firmware architectures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in sophisticated microprocessor-based designs, including FPGA/CPLD/ASIC, as well as analog and digital circuit schematics.
  • Provide expertise in the design, development, and testing of embedded hardware, focusing on both digital and analog circuit design.


Daily Tasks:
  • Direct hardware architectural designs to ensure compliance with all specifications.
  • Serve as the hardware subject matter expert (SME) during peer reviews of hardware and circuit card designs, as well as board layouts.
  • Ensure all hardware architectural requirements are fulfilled.
  • Lead HDL firmware architectural designs to guarantee all specifications are met.
  • Act as SME for firmware design reviews.
  • Confirm that all firmware architectural requirements are satisfied.
  • Guide junior engineering personnel in the development and testing of embedded avionics on military-grade, flight-capable hardware.
  • Engage with clients on-site to assist in hardware/software integration testing within customer System Integration Labs and/or deployed systems.


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, accompanied by relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded hardware design and testing of both digital and analog circuits, including schematic and PWB design for embedded circuit boards.
  • Proficiency in embedded firmware design and development, particularly for embedded FPGAs/CPLDs.
  • Experience leading hardware and firmware architecture design and development teams for embedded systems.
  • Expertise in planning and executing embedded systems testing to ensure all program requirements are met.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

The selected candidate will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
