Job Title: Mechanical Drafter - P&ID Specialist

**Job Summary:**

The Burchell Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our team. As a Mechanical Drafter, you will be responsible for assisting in the conversion efforts by picking up field relines on P&IDs according to SPID standards, as well as multiple discipline drawing redlines. You will work with a multi-discipline team, including Project Managers, Design Engineers, Design Managers, Design Supervisors, and Drafters, to generate drafting using AutoCAD and 3rd party software (CADWorx).

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Knowledge of P&ID Symbols and Terminology:**
  • Develop and maintain complete drawing packages in accordance with the standard drawing format.
  • Develop and ensure complete drawing packages for IFA (Issued for Approval), IFB (Issued for Bid), and IFC (Issued for Construction) in accordance with the standard drawing format.
  • Utilize raster-editing software.
  • Provide field sketches for piping design.
  • Work with x-ref supported drawing files.
  • Knowledge of Document Management Systems.
  • Strong organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to prioritize work.
  • Select material for pipe and components to meet established design requirements.
  • Interpret and comply with piping design standards and specifications.
  • Understand adequate spacing requirements for equipment and piping layout.
  • Understand the function of measurement equipment and process piping.
  • Understand the function of Midstream Pipeline Facility.
  • Must be able to understand and use industry terminology, material nomenclature, specification, symbology, and acronyms in work-related outputs.
  • Ability to work alone in a facility environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience with a degree.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience without a degree.
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in Midstream Design.
  • Excellent working knowledge of 3D and 2D pipeline design software (i.e. CADWorx, AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Knowledge and experience using Windows operating systems.
  • Must have good communication skills, written & verbal, work with minimal supervision, and simultaneously manage multiple projects to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain good working relationships with other functions, internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets, employees, and the public.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience is required.
