Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team at the City of Augusta GA. As a Paralegal, you will provide administrative support to the Law Department, assisting with various tasks and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary investigations, reviewing cases, conducting research, and gathering evidence.
  • Assist with discovery investigations, drafting and reviewing interrogatories, and coordinating the collection and review of client files.
  • Manage document production, organizing and analyzing documents, and following up on outstanding discovery requests.
  • Process and respond to open records requests, maintaining a public records request tracking system.
  • Participate in trial preparation and execution, preparing pleading, deposition, and trial notebooks, and assisting attorneys during trial.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in paralegal studies, business, or a closely related field.
  • 2 years of experience as a paralegal.
  • Knowledge of legal practices and procedures, basic budgetary principles, customer service principles, and the ability to learn applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and proof-reading skills, ability to meet strict work deadlines, and handle sensitive and confidential issues.
