Job Title: Hospice Massage Therapist

Winona Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Hospice Massage Therapist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Hospice Massage Therapist will provide end-of-life massage therapy services to patients under the supervision of the Hospice Director and direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager. The ideal candidate will have a certificate of graduation from an accredited massage therapy program and a minimum of 500 hours of experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients for medical indication for services and perform assessments to determine effectiveness of therapy.
  • Treat patients to relieve symptoms and provide relaxation and comfort.
  • Maintain necessary records, including clinical notes, problem charting, and coordination notes.
  • Perform direct client care and evidence-based practice in a safe, ethical, and legal manner.
  • Develop and revise treatment interventions based on initial assessments, continual reassessments, client history, diagnosis, expected outcomes, and client goals.
  • Evaluate client response to treatment, measure change and development, and share findings and make appropriate recommendations and referrals.
  • Work in partnership with team members of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group.
  • Maintain patient and organizational confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform duties in accordance with departmental productivity standards.
  • Promote service excellence with client scheduling and accommodation with appointments.
  • Follow infection control guidelines and maintain overall sanitation and cleanliness of equipment and work area.
  • Continually work to gain better understanding of workflow of the department and use knowledge base to analyze department processes and make changes to improve efficiencies.
  • Ongoing education and understanding of Continuous System Improvements (CSI) and support Leaders Standard Work (LSW).
  • Work effectively as a caregiver.
Requirements:
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited massage therapy program with a minimum of 500 hours.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Current national certification or must receive within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Member of the American Massage Therapy Association or Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
  • Certificate of professional liability insurance preferred, but not required.
