Position Title: Director of Tribal Relations
Organization: Opt For Healthy Living
Role Overview:
As the Director of Tribal Relations, you will report directly to the executive leadership and play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with Tribal communities. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and enhance the organization's engagement with Tribal stakeholders, aligning with both local and national initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the liaison between the organization and Tribal communities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Oversee programs and initiatives that promote the welfare and success of Native American individuals, focusing on health and environmental stewardship.
- Facilitate partnerships that support the strategic goals of the organization while respecting Tribal interests and values.
- Supervise staff and volunteers involved in Tribal relations activities, providing guidance and support.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience working with Federally recognized and/or non-Federally recognized tribes, with a preference for experience in California.
- A Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Anthropology, Native American Studies, or related disciplines.
- A Master’s degree in Cultural Resources Management or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with NAGPRA regulations and best practices in collections management is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Google Suite and data management software is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse groups.
Compensation and Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $7,500 and $10,000 per month, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and generous leave policies.
