Chipton-Ross is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic for a contract opportunity. This role requires a dedicated professional to work onsite, focusing on the maintenance and repair of aircraft components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Utilize precision measurement tools including feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.
- Conduct repairs on detailed components through filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing techniques.
- Employ both power and hand tools for tasks such as drilling, sanding, and riveting.
- Document evaluations clearly and communicate repair needs effectively for internal and external work.
- Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) standards, as well as FAA and EASA regulations, alongside company policies and procedures.
- Follow established procedures outlined in maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other relevant documentation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using torque wrenches and understanding of SAC torque specifications.
- Apply chemical treatments to repaired surfaces as per approved guidelines.
- Review and interpret documentation to ensure accurate identification of parts and operational sequences.
- Perform tasks such as drilling, reaming, tapping, changing studs, and installing helicoils and bushings using appropriate methods.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an automotive trade school is preferred.
- Possession of an FAA Airframe license is advantageous but not mandatory.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
