**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Ballistics Technician to perform tests and/or measurement tasks for the ballistics department. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of ballistics and mechanical principles, working knowledge of basic safety practices, and the ability to use all standard Ballistics equipment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Test Setup - Read specifications from technical documents, identify/prepare test equipment
- Perform Testing - Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data
- Data Processing - After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager
- Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown - Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies
- Other - Perform other duties as assigned
**Requirements:**
- Under general supervision; completes intermediate technical and mechanical procedures, regularly interacts with clients, troubleshoots and reworks standard tests
- Comprehensive knowledge of ballistics & mechanical principles, working knowledge of basic safety practices
- Able to use all standard Ballistics equipment; able to accurately capture necessary data; able to understand AC/DC circuits
- Basic MS Office skills
**Minimum Education and Experience:**
- HS Diploma or GED; AA or AS OR trade school for ballistics testing certificate OR military ballistics training strongly preferred
- 2+ Years of experience
**Working Conditions:** Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises
**Physical Requirements:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
