About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and creative Bartender to join our team at Margaux, a prestigious fine dining French restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology, extensive knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, and the ability to provide exceptional service to our guests in a sophisticated dining environment.

Responsibilities
  • Cocktail Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve a diverse range of high-quality cocktails, wines, and other beverages in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Guest Engagement: Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and descriptions of cocktails, wines, and spirits.
  • Bar Maintenance: Maintain a well-stocked bar with a focus on premium ingredients, garnishes, glassware, and bar tools, ensuring efficient workflow during service.
  • Cocktail Innovation: Create signature cocktails and seasonal specials, showcasing creativity and innovation while adhering to the restaurant's beverage program.
  • Wine Service: Demonstrate expertise in wine service, including proper decanting, serving temperatures, and wine pairings with menu items.
  • Responsible Alcohol Service: Adhere to responsible alcohol service practices, including monitoring guest intoxication levels and complying with legal regulations and safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth bar operations, timely service, and guest satisfaction.
  • Bar Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including regular cleaning of equipment, bar tops, and storage areas.
  • Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain proper documentation of sales and inventory.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, new ingredients, and beverage techniques, continuously improving and enhancing the bar program.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience as a bartender in a fine dining restaurant, upscale lounge, or cocktail bar, with a strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails.
  • Mixology Skills: Excellent mixology skills, including the ability to create balanced and visually appealing cocktails with precision and consistency.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with guests and team members.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Beverage Knowledge: Knowledge of beverage cost control, inventory management, and bar equipment maintenance.
  • Certification: Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe) may be required, depending on local regulations.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
