Job Overview

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our team at JWCH Institute, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nutrition counseling and support to patients, developing personalized nutrition care plans, and educating patients on healthy eating practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients, including dietary histories and lifestyle evaluations.
  • Participate in the development of nutrition programs by identifying the nutrition needs of individuals at risk and defining problems that may be prevented or corrected with proper nutrition.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide one-on-one nutrition counseling and education to patients on topics such as weight management, chronic disease management, and general wellness.
  • Conduct group nutrition education sessions and workshops for patients and community members.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition care into overall patient treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide support and guidance on nutrition-related issues.
  • Develop and implement nutrition programs and initiatives to address community health needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition programs and services, making improvements as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to nutrition and dietetics.
  • Stay current with the latest research, trends, and best practices in nutrition and dietetics.
  • Participate as a member of CQI and other assigned committees.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Certification required.
  • At least two years of experience in a related field of dietary work.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations and managing chronic conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition science, dietary guidelines, and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to educate and motivate patients effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Current California Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel to multiple work sites.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
