The Specialists Hospital Shreveport is seeking a skilled RN Pain Management Specialist to join our team in the pain management department. Responsibilities- Assessment: Collect, interpret, record, and communicate pertinent data relevant to the patient's care in the pain management unit.
- Implementation: Provide direct care to patients, meeting their physiological needs, including identifying priorities and executing nursing care accordingly, providing emotional support and comfort measures, and ensuring patient rights, privacy, and dignity.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and oxygen as needed, documenting all administration.
- Emergency Response: Recognize symptoms of cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and/or other impending crisis; initiate emergency response.
- Documentation: Accurately and promptly document all postoperative care, including unusual occurrences noted during the postoperative phase of recovery.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other disciplines to revise the patient care plan according to the changing needs of the patient.
- Current state RN licensure.
- Current BLS, ACLS certification is required.
- CAPA or CPAN certification is preferred.
- BSN or Associate Degree in nursing with a minimum of five (5) years clinical experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years peri-anesthesia experience.
- Physical Requirements:
- Hepatitis immunization (Will be provided at no cost to the employee) or documented refusal to be vaccinated.
- Evidence of negative Mantoux or chest x-ray (will be provided at no cost to the employee).
- Able to maintain extensive standing, and moderate sitting
- Physically able to perform CPR.
- Able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs
- Seven paid holidays.
