Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:

i3 is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support a complex engineering effort in Huntsville, Alabama. The successful candidate will provide technical and engineering support, collaborating with government personnel and a diverse team of engineering professionals to achieve project goals and timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new and existing processes, equipment, and materials to inform scheduling methods, performance metrics, and financial standards.
  • Create work instructions and routers for manufacturing activities, detailing required operations for product realization.
  • Monitor operating parameters on production builds, including build times, defect identification, and material consumption rates.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and build issues.
  • Generate test plans, technical reports, and presentations documenting work performed.
  • Support 3D printing for rapid prototyping, production parts, and tooling.
  • Support engineering efforts in preparation for Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).
  • Assist in developing procurement documentation for large-scale design efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating with key vendors and/or suppliers.
  • Manage and organize government-furnished equipment (GFE).
  • Review and mentor lower-level engineers, as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable engineering area (mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, and engineering technology, etc.). Additional experience may substitute for degree.
  • 6-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Ability to travel to suppliers as required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
