Position Overview
The licensed physical therapist operates under the general oversight of the Director of Physical Therapy. This role entails taking responsibility for a specific group of patients and delivering physical therapy assessments and interventions in alignment with established institutional and departmental guidelines, as well as within the professional scope of practice for physical therapists. The therapist is tasked with caring for patients experiencing disorders, injuries, developmental delays, or other health-related issues that necessitate skilled evaluation and intervention by a physical therapist to foster functional independence.
The physical therapist must consider the functional, psychological, medical, cultural, social, spiritual, and developmental aspects of each patient while ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Additionally, the staff physical therapist is accountable for the care provided to patients treated by Physical Therapy Assistants and may be involved in the orientation of new staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough physical therapy evaluations to assess patient needs. Design and implement a holistic physical therapy program for patients and their families that promotes independence and optimal health outcomes. Ensure accurate and timely documentation, billing, and insurance communication in accordance with departmental protocols. Encourage leadership and education through active participation in departmental initiatives and quality improvement efforts. Provide care in a manner that is customer-friendly and consistent with the department's philosophy, mission, vision, and values.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with no prior experience required; on-the-job training and pediatric clinical education experiences are provided. Must possess a valid Physical Therapist license in Missouri. Must possess a valid Physical Therapist license in Kansas. Employees are required to obtain a Kansas Physical Therapist license or equivalent within 90 days of employment. Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is preferred.Benefits at Children's Mercy

Compensation
Our compensation packages are competitive within the market. The starting pay for this position begins at $36.64 per hour, with final offers determined based on education and experience.
Work Environment
This position requires onsite work at one of our facilities and is not eligible for remote work.
