Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will function within the scope of practice as defined by the state nurses' practice act, delineation of privileges set forth by the practice setting, and the American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics. The APP will utilize the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient history and physical examination to determine a working differential diagnosis and develop an individualized plan of care.
  • Order, perform, supervise, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescribe pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Provide therapeutic measures as appropriate and provide teaching, education, and counseling to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Formulate diagnoses in consultation with a collaborating/supervising physician and either refer to a specialist or participate in the dual management and treatment with the collaborating/supervising physician.
  • Emphasize health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Serve as healthcare researchers, professional educators, interdisciplinary consultants, and patient advocates.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with current APP prescribing guidelines and state and federal law.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider. Preferably in Primary Care.
  • Master's in Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • New Jersey Registered Nurse & Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant License.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 4 hours nontraditional; 40 hours weekly
