Job Summary

As a Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist (GRNA) at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures. Under the medical supervision of a physician anesthesiologist, you will administer general and regional anesthesia, as well as deep sedation, to patients of all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining fluid balance, homeostasis, and monitoring patients' responses to anesthesia.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to patients of all age groups, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborate with physician anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations, including patient interviews and examinations, to identify potential risks and develop strategies for mitigating them.
  • Monitor patients' responses to anesthesia and take prompt action to address any complications or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including anesthesia administration, patient responses, and any complications or issues that arise.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest anesthesia techniques, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) certification within 5 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in anesthesia care for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for various age group patients.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
