Responsibilities

This position involves observing, reporting, and recording patient behaviors under the supervision of nursing staff. You will be responsible for helping to maintain a safe and secure unit environment, ensuring that all patients and staff feel valued and respected. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Participating in direct patient care activities, such as assisting with daily living tasks and providing emotional support.
  • Observing and reporting any changes in patient behavior or condition to the nursing staff.
  • Assisting with maintenance of patient records and charts.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess certain skills and qualifications. These include:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years' experience in a human service field.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in an area of human services, such as psychology, sociology, counseling, or education.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, using evidence-based practices and techniques to promote communication, socialization, and daily living skills.
