Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Aide to join our team in Anoka, MN. As a School Aide, you will work closely with students who require instructional and behavioral assistance, providing support services to help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement IEP objectives, including math, reading, speech, and independent skills, in a one-on-one or group setting.
  • Facilitate teacher-directed learning activities, such as lesson plans, worksheets, and reinforcement systems.
  • Assist students in general education classes and communicate with teachers to ensure a smooth learning experience.
  • Accompany students during recess, lunch, and community experiences, promoting socialization and development.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict confidentiality requirements regarding student, parent, and classroom activities.
  • Assist with activities of prescribed programs, including those written by related service personnel, such as PT, OT, and SLP.
  • Support students in developing independent skills through self-care activities, such as toileting, clothing routines, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Participate in behavior management techniques, as directed by the teacher and/or other school professionals.
  • Assist with clerical duties, including making stimuli, making copies, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, preparing materials, and assignment scoring.
  • Assist with transfers and ambulation, ensuring student safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participate and complete Amergis' Competency program, when applicable.
  • Hold current CPR certification, if applicable.
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successfully complete new hire training, as applicable to the job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, proficiency in the English language, and computer proficiency.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
