Job SummaryThe Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training and Development Specialist to serve as the CTD Director. This is a senior-level position that requires advanced training work and coordination of the CTD Department.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee the CTD Department and all activities to ensure staff are appropriately oriented, trained, and competent in their required skills.
- Plan, design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate all facility training programs.
- Analyze training needs and prepare materials for training sessions.
- Ensure sufficient class offerings to meet facility training compliance and continuing education opportunities.
- Supervise staff in the CTD Department and ensure competency of CTD Department staff and Adjunct Training Staff.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports within timeframes required by the facility or Facility Support Services (FSS)-CTD.
- Serve as back-up instructor to the Training Specialists, when required and appropriate, to support the facility's needs.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to the facility, HHSC, the State of Texas, and the CTD Department.
- Knowledge of adult education principles, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of training procedures and methods.
- Knowledge of group processes, dynamics, and interpersonal relations.
- Skill in designing, writing, editing, and producing educational, informational, and technical materials for various purposes to diverse audience(s).
- Skill in analyzing data for the production of training materials and required departmental reports.
- Ability to lead, instruct, and motivate others in a professional manner.
- Ability to analyze training needs and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks efficiently, effectively, and concurrently.
- Ability to use computer systems, Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet) or other training software.
The CTD Director will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
