Job Description

As a Barista and Customer Service Representative at City Market, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment. You will treat customers and employees with fairness and respect, promoting an inclusive work environment and demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products and services.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products and services to respond to customer inquiries and make suggestions.
  • Collaborate with associates to achieve company and store goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards, and tender transactions using company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Provide customers with fresh products and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend products to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all equipment in the coffee shop according to company guidelines.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activity.
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Any previous comparable experience.
