Urology APP Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled APP to join our Urology team at New York Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative joint practice with our physicians.

About the Role

As a Urology APP, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for individual patients. You will initiate and document appropriate interventions, evaluate and record patient/family response within practice protocol, and prescribe drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation. You will also assist physicians and perform procedures as needed, conduct patient assessments, and manage the administration of IV and oral medications.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Urology care in collaborative joint practice with physicians to Urology patients
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for individual patients
  • Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation
  • Assist physicians and performs procedures as needed; conducts patient assessments
  • Manage the administration of IV, and oral medications, vascular access device maintenance and monitoring, chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration, blood administration, therapeutic phlebotomy, assessment of patient symptoms and the management of side effects, and overall collaboration on patient treatment plans
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide education
  • Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs
  • Complete patient charges
  • Provide case management for Urology clients and their families
  • Supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff
  • Mentor new mid-level providers
Requirements
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program or PA from an accredited program
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state
  • Current state licensure as Nurse Practitioner/Physician assistant
  • Practical experience working in Urology preferred
  • Stable transportation to travel to offices located in Queens, NY, and Hewlett, NY
