Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair issues with diesel engines, including advanced skilled level repairs
  • Coordinate work schedule with customers and ensure quality of repair work performed
  • Preventive maintenance responsibilities include but are not limited to: A/C & Heater, Brakes-Air, Brakes-Hydraulic, Cargo Handling/Transfer, Liftgates, Cranking System (electrical), Lighting System and Electrical Accessories, Drive Axles, Driveline, Gas Engines-All Engines, Fuel Systems, Steering and Non-driven Axles and Alignment, Suspension-Chassis and Cab, Tire and Wheel Maintenance, Vehicle Coupling System
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • Other State driver's license, as required
