At Brightmont Academy, we utilize a personalized one-on-one teaching model that caters to each student's unique learning preferences within a recognized curriculum framework. This tailored approach allows us to effectively address the diverse needs of our students, who may face various challenges such as learning disabilities, attention deficits, emotional issues, or other individual requirements.
Instructor Responsibilities:
As a Special Education Instructor, you will:
- Implement a holistic teaching methodology that acknowledges each student's learning style and personal interests.
- Utilize advanced instructional techniques and adapt strategies based on assessments and individual goals.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that promotes student growth through positive reinforcement and motivation.
- Exhibit creativity in lesson planning to make learning engaging and enjoyable.
- Connect previous knowledge with new concepts to help students understand the broader context of their learning.
- Enhance students' academic confidence and engagement through constructive interactions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to cultivate a culture of learning that is both exciting and rewarding.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain professionalism in all communications and interactions on campus.
- Respect student confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience working with students from diverse academic and emotional backgrounds.
- Proficiency in technology tools and educational resources, including G-Suite and Chromebooks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.
- The ability to pass a federal background screening and provide fingerprints where required.
Work Environment:
This position requires physical presence on campus as part of the essential functions of the role. The specific duties may evolve based on the operational needs of Brightmont Academy.
Employment Type:
Part-time
Compensation:
$30.00 per hour
Schedule:
Flexible hours available, Monday to Friday, with no evening or weekend commitments.
