We are seeking highly qualified candidates for four tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Biology at Wake Forest University. The successful candidates will join a collaborative community of teacher-scholars engaging with life's diversity from the biosphere to the molecule.

Position Overview

The Department of Biology at Wake Forest University invites applications for four full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in Eukaryotic Cell Biology, Microbiology, Neurobiology, and Plant Ecophysiology at the assistant professor level. We especially encourage applicants who blend expertise across disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology
  • Develop and maintain a research program that attracts external funding
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and academic pursuits
  • Contribute to departmental service and committee work
Requirements

Ph.D. in Biology or a related field

Postdoctoral research experience

Strong publication record

Excellent teaching and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with grant writing and securing external funding

Experience with teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students

Experience with departmental service and committee work
