Aquatic Supervisor - Summer Camp

Seasonal Position

You will play a crucial role in this camp community, where your input is valued, and you will receive the necessary support to ensure a fun and successful summer.

Compensation: $580-630/week for on-site living or $13/hour for commuting, based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for engaging with children and prior experience working with various age groups.
  • Enjoyment of outdoor activities and previous experience in an outdoor environment.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding (Waterfront Lifeguard certification preferred; training available for candidates, contingent upon passing the Red Cross lifeguarding course, including a swimming pre-test).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proof of a health examination clearing the candidate for work in a camp setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to live and work in both indoor and outdoor camp environments, which includes irregular hours, limited equipment, rustic facilities, and exposure to wildlife and weather conditions.
  • Provide engaging, positive, and active leadership to campers.
  • Foster a supportive atmosphere where campers can develop, make new friends, and explore new activities.
  • Exemplify problem-solving, teamwork, and initiative to campers and fellow staff members.
  • Oversee and ensure safety during all aquatic activities, utilizing certifications and emergency management as necessary.
  • Deliver quality water-based programming and lessons.
  • Instruct boating programs such as canoeing, kayaking, and/or sailing.
  • Supervise campers during group activities, meals, and transitions to scheduled events.
  • Maintain the aquatics facilities, shower house, and equipment in optimal condition, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Assist with other camp programs when aquatics areas are not in use.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
