The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, including medical expense analyses and projections, health insurance market intelligence research and analyses, product pricing and state rate filing support, data, and actuarial modeling, etc. They will also present statistical information to support actuarial, underwriting, and other business areas regarding the pricing of plans, product development and marketing planning.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of actuarial principles and methodologies, with excellent mathematical and analytical skills. They should also be proficient in Excel, data extraction, simulations, automation, and have exposure to SQL, SAS, Python or similar. Additionally, they should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver complex information to a diverse audience.

As a Healthcare Risk Management Analyst, you will work closely with our experienced actuaries and analysts to design, test, and administer policies to minimize risk and maximize profitability. You will also identify trends and patterns in complex data sets, program and develop pricing and statistical models, spreadsheets, and databases using analytical software, and explain complex ideas and technical data to different audiences.

The hourly rate for this position is $30 per hour, and you will work full-time (40 hours per week) for ten weeks from June 2 to August 8, 2025. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere.

To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate student or 1st year graduate student in a relevant field, such as actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, or related finance/business degree. Completion of or candidate working towards completion of actuarial exam(s) is preferred. Zero to one year of relevant professional work experience and/or education is required.
