We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Correctional Horticulture Instructor to join our team at Lake Land College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses and labs in the Horticulture Certificate program, providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver high-quality instructional materials and courses in horticulture, including lectures, labs, and demonstrations.
- Student Support: Provide individualized support and guidance to students, including academic advising and career counseling.
- Program Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new programs and courses in horticulture, including curriculum design and implementation.
- Community Engagement: Foster relationships with local businesses and organizations to provide students with opportunities for internships, job shadowing, and career advancement.
- Professional Development: Stay current with industry developments and best practices in horticulture education, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning.
- Education: Associate's degree in horticulture or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in horticulture education or a related field.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse populations, and experience with curriculum development and implementation.
