We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant with lab experience to join our team at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, Indiana.
Job SummaryThe Medical Assistant works under the direction of the RN or LPN and is responsible for monitoring patient vital signs, implementing orders for diagnostic lab tests, and assisting the Physician with minor procedures.
Responsibilities- Monitor patient vital signs and implement orders for diagnostic lab tests
- Assist the Physician with minor procedures
- Record EKGs and maintain and clean medical equipment
- Collect data for Quality Improvement programs, as assigned
- Current Indiana Medical Assistant license/certification
- Must have experience working in the lab
- Current CPR
- Corrections experience preferred, not required
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
