We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at American Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Class A Surface Water Treatment Plant.
Key Responsibilities- Operate pumps, multimedia filters, and chemical feed systems to ensure optimal water treatment processes.
- Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Collect and analyze water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other operators and laboratory personnel to achieve excellent outcomes for our customers.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance water quality and treatment efficiency.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of experience in the water industry.
- Class A Illinois EPA Drinking Water Operator Certification or ability to obtain license within company guidelines.
- Valid driver's license required with the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.
