Job Overview

Nursefinders is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Nurse to join our team. As a Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Nurse, you will work with individuals and families who have psychiatric problems and disorders, such as depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, dementia, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess mental health needs and develop nursing care plans
  • Manage a therapeutic environment and assist with self-care activities
  • Provide crisis intervention and counseling services
  • Work directly with individuals who have anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse, Alzheimer's disease, and other mental health conditions

Education and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution
  • Active state license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Completion of Continuing Education (CE) courses in crisis intervention and mental health
  • Experience working in patient facilities, health departments, mental health agencies, long-term care centers, and correction facilities
