About the Role

We're seeking an experienced RN with a passion for psychiatric nursing to join our team. In this rewarding role, you'll perform initial nursing evaluations, develop personalized care plans, and provide education to patients and caregivers. You'll also be responsible for administering medications, performing lab draws, and coordinating care with our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform initial nursing evaluations, including behavioral health/psychiatric nursing needs
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs
  • Administer IM medications, perform lab draws, and coordinate care with our multidisciplinary team
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on cognitive and technical aspects of care, medication regimes, disease processes, safety interventions, ADL care, coping skills, symptom management, and other interventions
  • Act as a case manager in coordinating care for patients as assigned
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and care plans
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current RN license specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work
  • One of the following qualifications to meet CMS requirements for psychiatric nursing in the home care setting:
    • An RN with a master's degree in mental health nursing or psychiatric specialty and recent nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting
    • An RN with a bachelor's degree in nursing and one year of recent nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting
    • An RN with a diploma or associate's degree in nursing and two years of recent nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting

Please note that experience must have been within the last three to five years, and documentation may be required to support psychiatric retraining or classes or CEUs to update psychiatric knowledge.
