Position Summary

The Brake Press Technician will be tasked with the setup and operation of brake presses to bend and form metal components in accordance with engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, inspect, and operate 8', 10', and 12' Trumpf and Primeline brake presses.
• Identify and select appropriate materials for each job.
• Conduct quality checks and assess parts periodically.
• Adjust machine settings as necessary to resolve issues.
• Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
• Maintain specified tolerances as per part specifications.
• Handle materials, including loading for job runs using a forklift.
• Utilize the NAV operating system to scan completed jobs and manage labeling.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Understanding of brake press operations and capabilities.
• Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the workspace.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficient in safely operating job-specific tools and equipment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail and effective verbal communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude; machining skills are a plus.

Experience Requirements

• Advanced proficiency with measuring tools (e.g., tape measures, micrometers, protractors).
• Preferred experience in light manufacturing or sheet metal environments.
• Familiarity with the NAV operating system is advantageous.
• Forklift operation experience is beneficial.

Physical Requirements

• Work environment typical of light manufacturing settings.
• Ability to perform tasks on concrete flooring for the duration of the shift.
• Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to raise arms above shoulder level and rotate arms/shoulders freely.
• Ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, and squat as necessary.
• Work involves repetitive motions of hands, arms, wrists, and legs.
• Requires hand and finger dexterity and good eyesight, with or without corrective lenses.
