POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of a Bartender involves crafting and serving beverages to patrons. This position requires the ability to blend various ingredients to create both traditional and unique drinks tailored to the preferences of customers. The primary objective is to engage with guests and ensure they enjoy a memorable experience at the bar or lounge. Bartenders are expected to maintain positive interactions with guests while accurately preparing and serving drinks in a friendly and efficient manner. It is essential to keep the bar area and workspace organized and clean.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with guests, taking orders for drinks and food items.
  • Deliver food and beverages to customers.
  • Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions for alcohol and tobacco sales.
  • Combine ingredients to create cocktails and other beverages.
  • Prepare drinks in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Arrange bottles and glassware to create appealing displays.
  • Assess customer preferences and provide recommendations.
  • Utilize sales techniques to encourage upselling and suggestive selling.
  • Offer guidance to guests regarding drink and food selections.
  • Serve customers with a friendly and accommodating demeanor.
  • Assist guests with information about hotel amenities, dining options, and local attractions.
  • Recognize when a guest has consumed too much alcohol and handle the situation with care.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings, menus, and promotions.
  • Maintain cleanliness by cleaning up after guests and tidying the work area.
  • Wash glassware and utensils after each use.
  • Keep the work environment clean through regular maintenance tasks.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending as needed.
  • Process payments for drinks served and reconcile receipts.
  • Manage an assigned cash bank and adhere to cash handling protocols.
  • Prepare inventory or supply requests as necessary.
  • Ensure the bar area is fully stocked with necessary tools and products for service.
  • Focus on guest satisfaction and foster an exceptional experience.
  • Adhere to all food and beverage regulations.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capacity to lift up to 35 lbs. as necessary.
  • Ability to carry and balance heavy trays of food and beverages.
