About the Role:
The Director of Museum and Archives will set the vision for the interpretation and presentation of the stories of the Corridor to the community. This includes managing a team of talented and dedicated employees and volunteers, building community identity around the critical role in the industrial development of the United States, and leveraging the archive of historical artifacts to further academic study and community understanding alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the museum and archives
- Lead a team of employees and volunteers to achieve the goals of the museum and archives
- Build partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to promote the museum and archives
- Leverage the archive of historical artifacts to further academic study and community understanding
- Collaborate with the leadership team to set long-term goals and vision for the entire organization
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Museum Studies, History, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a museum or cultural institution
- Proven track record of leadership and management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
