This role encompasses both service and installation of fire alarm systems, ensuring optimal functionality while adhering to all relevant NFPA and AHJ standards.
Position Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Fire Alarm Specialist based in Orlando, FL. The primary responsibility of the Fire Alarm Service & Security Technician is to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair fire alarm and security systems, along with other fire and life safety equipment, while working with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Valid NICET or FASA BASA Certification is required.
- Additional certifications or training in fire alarm systems are advantageous.
Experience and Skills:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in the Fire Life Safety Industry, particularly in Fire Alarm systems, is essential.
- NICET Level 1 Fire Alarm Certification and FASA BASA are preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills for at least 2 years is desirable.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, update shop drawings, and follow technical diagrams and instructions.
- Experience in the installation of conduit and cabling is required.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards and local AHJ regulations is necessary.
- OSHA Certification and training on lifts are considered a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
- Must successfully pass background checks and screenings.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
- Strong problem-solving skills for field issues.
- Effective communication skills are essential.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel or work during non-standard hours is a plus.
